ReplyDeleteActually, there is a slight difference in the way we use the word "bathos". The wikipedia article suggests it is used in a somewhat restricted and maybe ironic sense whereas among Greeks it is more general, e.g you could talk about the deep meaning of life and "bathos" would be appropriate.
