I realize that I'm probably the only regular reader of this blog that likes hockey, but who can tell me a) why this Bruins win was significant, and b) why Milan Lucic rocks? No prizes are offered, but you will earn my deepest respect.
I happen to think that ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead is one of the best bands in the world. Why don't you?
Hey, I checked out the link. Those have got to be the most unflattering football uniforms I have ever seen.

ReplyDeleteWhy are you a fan of an American hockey team, especially over a Canadian one? Is it really the case that your team is Vancouver or Toronto or Edmonton, but they're not contenders?
ReplyDelete(Apologies if not all these cities host NHL teams anymore. Been a while since I paid attention.)
Glenn,
ReplyDeleteThat's blasphemy, my friend. Be careful! ;-)
Brendan,
1)The first year I played organized hockey my team was called the Bruins. That same year Bobby Orr (the greatest player ever to lace up a pair of skates) debuted with the Boston Bruins.
2)Back then the players were all Canadians anyway (well, almost all).
3)There are many long historical/familial ties between the Atlantic provinces and the New England states. Where I'm from people my age are generally Bruins or Canadiens fans (geographically the two closest pro teams).
I'm also a follower of the Red Sox, Pats, and Celtics (although I certainly have rooted for the Expos, Blue Jays, and Raptors).
Ok, Here`re my answers:
ReplyDeletea) The Bruins don`t beat the Canadiens very often, (can you say 12 game winning streak) so any win is significant.
b)It`s hard to say, not being able to see any of the games, but my guess would be the fight with Komisarek. How`d I do?
Go Habs,

Colin,
ReplyDeleteGood effort, my friend. Lucic rocks because he scores, delivers thundering hits, and knows how to fight (and win!). He's a classic Bruin.
"Go Habs"? Jeez, how many times do I have to kick you out of here? ;-)
All right, already, where's my hat? I've been thrown outa *lots* of better places than this.
ReplyDeleteIn the words of du guvunu of California though, "I'll be back".
Colin,
ReplyDeleteMy Bruins are going to kick the shit out of your sorry Hab-asses in Montreal tomorrow. You won't want to come back!
;-)
