  1. These are totally surreal - almost Dali-esque (Dali in close up).

By the way, D thinks your shots are brilliant - given as he is to being like a big kid and splashing around in rock pools, he was very taken with the crab. And posed an interesting question on the colour in your shots - are you enhancing the colour before posting the images because your water shots are really luminous?

  2. AV,
Yes, I tweak/enhance just about everything I post here; some a lot, some a little. For me, it's not enough just to take pictures. I want to fiddle around and make stuff that I (and hopefully others) find interesting to look at. To put it another way (and probably sounding unintentionally pretentious--I swear I do not have "artistic" aspirations!), I'm more into "interpretation" than "journalism" (if that makes any sense).

  3. Glenn,
Yeah, they're real rock formations caused (I guess) by the ocean. One thing I'm not sure about: pretty much every clump of land that touches ocean or river here has been re-inforced with concrete, tetrapods, and fuck knows what other material; after a long time it's not always immediately clear (at least to a non-geologist) where "natural" ends and "artificial" begins.
