No Entrance

  1. Rick, this is soooooo beautiful!

It has so many things in it!

The fairy tale ambiance is guaranteed by the girl, the house and the water between then (reminded me of the Lady of Shallot ... I know, I know: I am pushing here).

But the best thing here is the wood fork dominating the scene. It makes you think of a choice, something in the line with "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood..."(Robert Frost). And when you go back to the rest of the picture and its heading (No Entrance), you feel that there is a contrast between the freedom of a choice and the decision to find or create your own way to get to the house (one difficult path only).

Above all: I repeat: the photo is a beauty!

  2. Thanks, Claudia.
I liked the "fairy tale" look of this too. It's interesting how people interpret these pictures, because when I'm snapping away all I'm thinking is "Hmm, that looks interesting." It's pretty spontaneous for me in the moment because none of them are really "set pieces."
Certainly, though, I enjoy what you have to say, and I can clearly see what you're talking about.
