The Never-Ending Nightmare

Somebody, somewhere, has probably had the same thought, but it occurred to me today that fixed-date elections are to campaigning what Christmas is to advertising. Given enough time, election campaigning and Christmas advertising will transcend their "seasons" and become perpetual events. What a fucking depressing thought.
