ROTFL. I am reminded looking at this pic of the "ugly man" who used to plague the park next to our high school. The "ugly man" had a favourite tree of which he was inordinately fond. I suspect the "ugly man's" tree looked a lot like this... Needless to say, all of us girls were banned from giggling and squealing at the "ugly man" and his tree.
AV, Yeah, and I better not catch you girls giggling at me, either!! ;-)
Glenn, Thanks. Hmm... I guess that depends on what you mean by "real"! Certainly, if I showed you the original shot, it wouldn't look nearly as vivid as this one, which was heavily tweaked with photo editing software. I don't think I actually "changed" any of the colors, but I did my damnedest to enhance or bring out what I saw in my mind's eye when I shot the original (if that makes any sense!). I'm not really trying to represent "reality" with this kind of picture (but I don't want to make any high-falutin' artistic claims, either)--I'm just trying to make something that looks interesting to me, and if it looks interesting to other people too, then great!
Good for you. I've never posted a shot I haven't tweaked. Most photos look washed out to me. I like to give them a push, even if it's imperceptible to anyone else who might view the two side by side. It looks different to me.

ReplyDeleteQuirky and funny. Good shot. One question, though: are those colors real?
