Ten Years After

From Woodstock, one of the greatest on-stage performances in rock 'n' roll history, Ten Years After doing "I'm Goin' Home." An exclamation point at the end of one era and the beginning of a new one.

I saw these guys in Moncton, New Brunswick [!] on a Labour Day back in, I think, 1975. I was 17 and had hitch-hiked up from Halifax where, the day before, I'd seen Nazareth play. Nazareth was OK, but the Ten Years After concert remains in my brain to this day as one of the best rock shows I've ever seen.

  1. There are readings I've gone to (like the one for Lost books of the Odyssey) and probably seeing David Lindley in small venues in which I feel like I have been there for something important. If someone is oriented toward an art form or performer, perhaps that's like being a witness to history for that person.

  2. Susan,
I know what you mean but [ponders next words carefully!] I'm about objectively true stuff described subjectively... ;-)
BTW, do you know Assembled Head in Sunburst Sound? SF band, my current favorites...

  3. Rick, Do you happen to recall if RUSH was the opener for the August 31, 1975 Nazareth show in Halifax?

    1. That's what my memory tells me! However, a web search indicates that neither band was in Halifax on that date! Something is wrong here...!
