Mutating Avian Loo

Another segment in the ongoing saga of the avian loo. I'm a bit surprised at this bird's rate of growth. At this pace it may prove to be a formidable member of the venerable pantheon of Japanese monsters.

Viewers will also note that Mom is not much for housekeeping. Is this how monsters are made? The philosophical implications are troubling...

  1. I can't believe you're continuing to get these shots. Are you incredibly stealthy, or have you just become so familiar to the birds by now?

  2. Brendan,
Given the location of the nest, I just assume they're not too skittish around people generally. This kind of thing is fairly common (in Miyazaki, at least). The Japanese would be very reluctant to displace these birds. I suspect in North America health and hygiene concerns would mandate their removal.

  3. Hah! Another example supporting my belief that germ-phobia is ruining America.
