On Ideas

Good ideas sometimes become bad ideas; bad ones, good. I can see a certain utility in beating them all to death.

What? You want examples? Heh, are you ever in the wrong place!

  1. Whether ideas are considered good or bad is dependent upon who is judging. No, this is not a fortune cookie. But ideas in themselves don't get recognition for their merit until their author is in favor. The same idea can be presented by different people over time, but it will only be listened to when the proponent is in vogue at the moment. I've seen this happen so often, and it's a wonder anything worthwhile ever gets done at all. sp
