Naaaah, that's not new, man. Mexican police officers have been having the time of their lives riding those stupid vehicles up and down the whole length of Reforma Avenue for more than a year now, and peasants have to jump aside everytime they approach! They even carry the cuttest backpack on the handle. I promise I'll take a picture.
