After all this time, Michele, and after all the tetrapod pics I've posted... You don't know what they are!? :-) (They're made of concrete and, piled up along the shore as breakwaters. They're shaped like "jacks" (I've pulled that word from childhood memories, not sure if it means anything to you!). They have 5 "feet" (or legs)...
I was kind of embarrassed to ask exactly because you have posted so many pics. They were always on the beach and I always wondered why they were there. We British have pebble wall as breakwaters you see.
This one is a knock out. Great inspiration for textile design. -sus
